This document will give a basic approach to how customer can remove Synergy if needed.
Pre-requisites:
Ask from Customer:
Rollback Plan
-Rollback Considerations
-Rollback Criteria
-Rollback Risks
-Rollback Verification Procedure & roles and assumptions
Once the rollback plan is finalised execute the below steps to remove Synergy:
Decommissioning Infrastructure
Getvisibility services run upon a kubernetes cluster which is managed and maintained by the end customer. The cluster is updated and maintained by our cloud based Rancher Manager
To decommission the infrastructure, the kubernetes nodes can be stopped and deleted. Please refer to https://kubernetes.io/docs/home/ for further details on how to complete this.
To remove or decommission the servers which hosted the kubernetes cluster, please refer to your virtual infrastructure documentation.
Removing the registration of your kubernetes cluster in Rancher, please open a support ticket by emailing support@getvisibility.com. Our support team can delete this on your behalf.
Uninstalling the Agent
If you have the Getvisibility agent installed on multiple Windows endpoints and need to uninstall an application on a given endpoint, you can use Group Policy Object (GPO) or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to do so.
To uninstall the agent using GPO, please refer to the following Microsoft https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/group-policy/use-group-policy-to-install-software#remove-a-package
To uninstall the agent using SCCM, please refer to the following Microsoft https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/apps/deploy-use/uninstall-applications
Removing Getvisibility Synergy Labels
Removing file metadata labels
Getvisibility agent has a command line interface for interacting with the agent software and performing multiple tasks, operations and allows for being used in a programmable environment such as scripts and automation tools.
Preparing a PowerShell CMDlet’s
To remove the metadata tags and visual labels including headers, footers and watermarks, the admin of the system needs to call the agent’s command line interface.
To create a set of PowerShell CMDlet’s please refer to our product documentation. Alternatively, open a support ticket by emailing support@getvisibility.com. Our support team can help create a set of PowerShell commands to remove tags from files at scale.
Risks and considerations
Running label removing exercise at scale over all of the files, due to its volume, has technological risks associated with it. If an admin of the system runs these commands locally at each individual machine, there is a risk an user will terminate their logon session before the completion of the task. To minimise the risks during this exercise, we recommend first preparing lists of files that need to be de-labelled. The list of files that have been labelled by the agent, can be found in the agent activity logs. To generate the agent activity log, please refer to the product documentation.
Note: Outlook Classification Header & Footer:-It is not possible to remove the header and footer appended to an emails sent previously.
For any guidance please open a support ticket by emailing support@getvisibility.com. Our support team will be more than happy to be of any assistance.
