Setup a CIFS/SMB Scan
Creating a CIFS/SMB scan with Getvisibility Focus can be accomplished by following these steps:
Navigate to the Connection Scans Section:
On the Getvisibility Focus dashboard, locate the 'Connections' section from the sidebar.
Initiate a New CIFS/SMB Connection:
Click on the “NEW SCAN” button to create a new data source connection.
Configure the CIFS/SMB Connection:
In the 'New CIFS scan share' dialog box, input the necessary details:
Name: Assign a descriptive name to the new connection.
Username: Enter the username with permissions to access the CIFS/SMB share.
Password: Type in the password corresponding to the above username.
Domain/Workgroup: Specify the domain or workgroup to which the CIFS/SMB server belongs.
Host IP Address: Fill in the IP address of the CIFS/SMB server.
Port: If the default port is not used, input the correct port number for the SMB protocol.
Path: Provide the network path to the specific directory or share to be scanned.
Save the Connection Configuration:
After verifying all details are correct, click on the “SAVE” button to store the configuration.
Start the CIFS/SMB Scan:
Find your newly created CIFS/SMB connection in the list.
Click on the corresponding action button to “Start connection scan”.
Supported Protocols:
The connector supports all SMB dialects up to SMB 3.1.1
