ksoftirqd and iptables resource consumption

ksoftirqd and iptables resource consumption

From top command screenshots, ksoftirqd and iptables processes seem to be consuming a lot of resources (memory, CPU and swap) and had been running for more than 100 hours.

There’s a known bug in the iptables of some Linux distributions: https://docs.k3s.io/advanced#old-iptables-versions

The workaround is to tell K3s to use its bundled version of iptables by starting K3s with the --prefer-bundled-bin option (you’ll need to edit the file /etc/systemd/system/k3s.service and restart all the nodes), or by uninstalling the iptables/nftables packages from the operating system.
