Summary:

We have added a new report called DE DUPLICATION / ROT ANALYSIS REPORT which can be generated from dashboard. Report is self-explanatory and easy to understand with many useful insights on:

• Duplicate Files

• Stale Files

• Trivial Files

• PII Files

Details of Report:

Some of the matrix shown in the reports are for:

1. Duplicate Files: A duplicate file is defined as an exact copy of another file. Getvisibility counts all instances of these duplicates and sums up the total size together to calculate the total wasted space and then show the insights for it like:

   • Number of duplicate files

   • Duplicate Space on Disk

   • Top 10, 100 and 100 Duplicates

   • Largest Duplicate Files Found - The Top 10 List

2. Stale Files: Stale files are defined as files older than the giving date based on their last modified date. Data shown for stale files are:

   • Stale File Count By Date Range

   • Stale File Size By Date Range (GB)

3. Trivial Files: Trivial files are defined in the Getvisibility platforms files that are zero length and files that have the extension LOG or TMP. This definition can be expanded or modified as needed. Data shown for stale files are:

   • Number of Trivial Files

4. PII Files: These are the files in the over all file set that contain PII. PII is information that, when used alone or with other relevant data, can identify an individual. Data shown for stale files are:

   • Number of PII Files

   • Percentage of Files Found With PII By Date

   • Oldest Files With PII Information Found
