Creating a CIFS/SMB scan with Getvisibility Focus can be accomplished by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Connection Scans Section:

    • On the Getvisibility Focus dashboard, locate the 'Connections' section from the sidebar.

  2. Initiate a New CIFS/SMB Connection:

    • Click on the “NEW SCAN” button to create a new data source connection.

  3. Configure the CIFS/SMB Connection:

    • In the 'New CIFS scan share' dialog box, input the necessary details:

      • Name: Assign a descriptive name to the new connection.

      • Username: Enter the username with permissions to access the CIFS/SMB share.

      • Password: Type in the password corresponding to the above username.

      • Domain/Workgroup: Specify the domain or workgroup to which the CIFS/SMB server belongs.

      • Host IP Address: Fill in the IP address of the CIFS/SMB server.

      • Port: If the default port is not used, input the correct port number for the SMB protocol.

      • Path: Provide the network path to the specific directory or share to be scanned.

  4. Save the Connection Configuration:

    • After verifying all details are correct, click on the “SAVE” button to store the configuration.

  5. Start the CIFS/SMB Scan:

    • Find your newly created CIFS/SMB connection in the list.

    • Click on the corresponding action button to “Start connection scan”.
