This guide will explain the features available from the files Explore page on the Focus platform.

  1. Accessing the Explore Page:

    • From the Getvisibility Focus dashboard, select the 'Explore' section.

  2. Search and Filter Options:

    • Use the search bar to type in a file or folder name to find specific items.

    • Utilise the dropdown menus to filter the files by:

      • File Extension: Choose from a list of file types.

      • Source: Select the source of the files.

      • Risk: Filter files based on content and the amount of user access to the file.

      • Keyword Hits: Filter by specific keywords using regex (regular expressions).

      • Group: Select a specific group that files may be associated with, such as Sensitive.

      • Category and Subcategory: Filter files based on predefined categories and subcategories.

      • Classification: Choose the classification level of the files (e.g., Public, Internal, Confidential).

      • Alias: Filter files by their scan aliases.

      • Compliance: Select a compliance regulation to see relevant files.

      • Flow: Filter by the data flow process, catalogued or classification.

      • User or Group: Filter files accessible by specific users or groups.

  3. Reviewing File Details:

    • Each file listed will have details displayed such as:

      • Path: The directory path of the file.

      • Category and Subcategory: The classification categories of the file.

      • Classification: The sensitivity level of the file.

      • Compliance Tags: Any compliance-related tags assigned to the file.

      • Created and Last Modified: Timestamps indicating when the file was created and last modified.

      • Subcategory Confidence: A confidence score indicating the accuracy of the subcategory classification.

      • Ingested Time: The timestamp when the file was ingested into the system.

      • Actions: Icons indicating possible actions to take on the file.

      • File Size: The size of the file.

    • These details can be configure by selecting the three dots beside any column header

  4. Exporting Data:

    • Use the 'EXPORT' button to create a CSV or JSONL download of the filtered data

  5. Clearing Search:

    • Click 'CLEAR SEARCH' to reset all filters and search criteria.

  6. File Actions:

    • Permissions & Access Rights:

      • To view or modify the permissions and access rights of a file, click on the key icon under the 'Actions' column.

      • A detailed list will appear showing the Security Identifier (SID), the common name associated with that SID, the organisational unit, domain, and the specific permissions granted.

    • Manually Verify ML Classification:

      • To adjust the machine learning classification of a file, click on the pencil icon under the 'Actions' column.

      • A dialog box titled 'Verify ML Classification' will appear, allowing you to change:

        • The 'Category' and 'Subcategory' of the document.

        • The 'Compliance' tags associated with the file.

        • The 'Classification' level (e.g., Public, Internal, Confidential).

      • Confidence levels for the category and subcategory will be displayed, providing insight into the ML model's certainty regarding its classification.

      • After making changes, click 'SAVE' to apply them.

  7. Advanced Search:

    • Toggle the 'Switch to advanced search' to use GQL (Getvisibility Query Language).
